In Memoriam.

 dasha-7059
The feeling of lazy summer days is so far away from me right now, it is more like I didn’t even have a Summer this year. Well actually, there wasn’t much of a Summer – not much Sun, no heat waves, no lazy days by the pool and no holidays. What can I say, I will try again harder next year and I will certainly succeed, mainly because two years without Summer holidays is an unacceptable concept for me.
Meanwhile autumn, rain, [freezing] cold, wind, humidity, longer workdays and shorter daylight are setting in, to my great disappointment. At least my birthday and Christmas are getting closer and I can practice my not-so-discreet-manner-of-telling-family-and-friends-what-I-want-to-get. I am pretty good at that.

Lush Dream

As I was doing this polyvore.com set I was realising how much I changed in the past ‘too-many-to-tell’ years – I like lace, ‘thigh’ high boots, chunky jewellery,  short shorts(I wouldn’t have worn them back in high school for nothing in the world), strong-masculine perfumes, short nails, minimal make-up, large tops and nude colours. Actually, at a second thought, I must have been a disaster before:))

Just a few years back, ‘thigh’ high boots were on the no-no statement for me – but lately, I would be the happiest camper to own this Louboutin’s. And as it usually happens when I want something, it seems to me I could wear it with everything in my closet – skater skirts, shorts, feminine dresses, etc. I must accept it’s someting I do everytime I want something, but still, I day dream about them.

Still, I am definitely not a fan of jeans and high boots. Not for me… and many others.

Of course the bellow pics, just prove me right, even though it took me a good deal of time to find them.

Burberry – Degrade Herringbone Coat
As previously mentioned, I still search for time to, at least, rest 7 hours a night, even if I can’t do much else besides work. As can be noticed through my blog absence, I still haven’t found any time. Yet, because I don’t give up that easily.
As a kid I was always watching super-hero cartoons and tv shows – Batman and Robin(my favourite was Batgirl), Wonderwoman, I Dream of Jeannie(she was a super hero to me), Spiderman, Bewitched (she was also a super hero to me:)) ), Sailor Moon etc etc. and this simple thing that I was doing as a child I think influenced me a lot. I know some of these shows are not from the nineties, but back then, in my country, these were the only shows I could see on the German TV channels we had.
Short story short, anything that reminds me, even involuntary of such super heroes, I adore.
I love to wear coats – it feels like it’s a super hero cape<3 So, as expected, another item I adore about autumn is the coat. Coats are always a statement, at least for me, reason why  I will always try to choose quality over quantity – a good coat can be worn for years and still look fantastic. Well at least, this is my plan, and most of the time, I managed to buy them and wear them several years.
Here are some items I love – all pictures are from http://www.mytheresa.com, http://www.burberry.com and pinterest.

So, I hate autumn. I love summer. Summer always reminds me of the cosy days, when we just lounged around, sipping lemonades, sitting by the pool and having no care in the world. Having no homework, no teachers and just books to read. Something of the ‘Gone with the Wind‘ feeling. Well, at least the first chapters, when everything was super lush and life was just a party. Or ‘The Great Gatsby’.

But the moment I get super-comfortable wearing shorts, tanks and Greek sandals, or when shorts and heels seem just part of the décor during the evenings, autumn chills come around I have to go back to long pants, tights, cardigans and umbrellas (which are my least favourite accessory).

The only thing that actually makes me love this season are the new items I can wear, stuff I wouldn’t usually think of buying if it wouldn’t be compulsory.

This time around – SWEATERS.

Two – three years ago I had a total obsession with cardigans. I had so many, in so many colours and textures. It was hard to meet me with anything on, without a cardigan – that’s how I rolled. Crazy:)) Before that, I didn’t really have any favourites, I just disliked the cold:))

But since the blessing of skinny jeans and statement necklaces and leather pants, I started loving sweaters – they come in so many styles and colours it is very hard to choose. I would buy them all, but my favourite one is the black Saint Laurent from above – so versatile. Wish listed<3

Where Were We…

Image
So, God bless BBC Radio 1! I finally found a place where I can listen to music I love.
So, again, where were we…. I abandoned the blog right before I left for Raluca’s bachelorette weekend in Budapest – as usual I love organising, and I tried to do the best I could for this trip also. I found a super chic hotel right on Andrassy Boulevard, which is the centre of Budapest (thank you booking.com, as usual). The hotel was super cosy, cute, clean, had delicious breakfast and super friendly personnel.
In ‘the name of the old days’  as our dear bride Raluca said, we travelled by train – we had a lot of fun, but we promised to never go by train anywhere again (at least in Romania). I think that says it all. Regarding our stay I only have superlatives – amazing weather, amazing food (we went to my favourite restaurant – thanks girls), amazing people. But, when you travel with friends I think you can travel anywhere ‘cuz it’s going to be great. My highlights are: lunch at Kyoto, right on the banks of the Danube, drinks in a park – close to a lake(next to Heroes Square) at sundown and of into the night – kudos to the cute bartender<3 and of course, the aqua park. I am not usually the one to go and do anything but lounge on a sun bed next to the pool, but thanks to Raluca, we went on most slides, and we had so much fun. It felt like we were 8 again.
And of course we went shopping. And as usual, I fell in love in Mac Cosmetics all over again. Typical me.
Conclusion – cute awesome bartenders are important for a good time and a girl trip is a MUST once a year.
Right now it feels like I already miss the girls.

Once I Start, I Never Stop.

Image
This post is in the memory of who I once was – a person that was able to economize. And then I made a new friend, Alexandra, and we went to Mango, and I wasted all my money there. Ok, she just encouraged my already weak resistance to shopping, and I totally collapsed, and I could never go back to my more financially calculated ways.
I still have the black dress that I bought then, and it’s still hot. The rest I don’t remember what they were,  or what I did with them.
Meanwhile I discovered more stores, more brands, more amazing things. But the most amazing of them all, my own personal fairytale, are SHOES. I am convinced I am just one of many people that owns many pares of shoes and never has anything what to wear. And also, I am a person out of millions, that believes shoes are a divine creation. Thank you Sex and the City!
Here are some from my dream-wish list. They might be older models (some of them), but I still adore them.
Yes I have a Christian Louboutin obsession, yes I would wear all of these shoes, and yes I love high heels. Me and everyone else;))
